The story of Beach Cities Properties Inc. begins with the broker Jack Tanner transitioning from a thirteen year career in sales and finance, to becoming a licensed Realtor with one of the big five franchised brokerages in Southern California.
In 2003 Jack was awarded the “Rookie of the Year” honors in his first year of real estate practice. The next few years saw similar accolades as the top agent in the buyers, sellers and overall production categories.
Looking to build a dynamic team and help more families it was necessary to move to another of the big five franchise firms that embraced the belief that the agents were the ones whom the public was choosing to work with and not the franchise label they were associated with.This was the start of the Beach Cities Properties Team in 2010. With the success and growth of the team came top ranked agents specializing in buyers and property management while Mr. Tanner continued to work exclusively with the sellers and investors. The team was awarded several top honors over several years, including top producers and agent of the year.
With the growth of the team came the need for more office space. In 2012 the team was relocated from the corporate franchise offices near the ocean to a more centrally located and easily accessed location in the quaint Parkview Village on Viking way in east Long Beach. As time marched on and business grew, our reputation spread. Agents approached us looking for the culture of a family owned business with roots deep into the local community, a community that we all love so much.
As agents saw that the true value to their clients was in their personal work and efforts, they too moved from the franchise model to the Beach Cities Properties family as independent agents and small business owners.
In order to better accommodate the needs of our clients and agents we created a low cost alternative to the public escrow companies by forming Beach Cities Escrow Services to support our growing roster of Realtors.
By 2013 it was clear that our roll was to be an agent friendly brokerage and not just a self-contained team. We are now a thriving office of 25 Realtors (And growing) with the highly respected escrow officer, Lisa Garcia.
Ms. Garcia comes to us with over twenty five years of escrow officer experience in our local market.
Laura Baldwin is our equally revered sales manager. Ms. Baldwin comes from a background of working with over 900 agents in a similar family owned business and Laura was instrumental in building, educating and supporting that offices growth.
Although Beach Cities Properties Inc. has no designs on becoming that kind of mega office, we enjoy knowing that our sales manager Laura Baldwin is forged from that kind of metal.
The property management division was sold off to a business partner in 2014 so Jack Tanner could focus on his true passion of families in transition, real estate sales and real estate investing.
Mr. Tanner is a full time working Realtor & broker who can be found around town at the local brokers meetings, training classes and in the office most days of the week to support his fellow Realtors and clients.
